The CD-ROM program consists of three core courses:
- Strategy and War - nine weeks*
- Joint Maritime Operations - 24 weeks*
- Theater Security Decision Making - 15 weeks*
*While the program is self-paced, these courses are designed to be completed in the aforementioned time frames if students work about four to six hours per week.
Each of the three courses are divided into modules or blocks, and assignments include essays, papers, and other written assignments. Students must be near completion of a course before the next one is shipped.
In order to be eligible for a June graduation, students should complete coursework by April 30 of the year in which they wish to graduate.
CD-ROM courses are cost-free to students, and NWC also loans all required course materials to participating students.
