Public Affairs Office

The Public Affairs Office (PAO) is the official source of U.S. Naval War College (NWC) news and information for the community. We work with the media to communicate newsworthy information, provide public affairs advice, support the college community, oversee the college's website, serve as a conduit for college speakers and maintain the college's official social media presence.

About the Public Affairs Office

The PAO is a connection not only between the public and the Navy’s various public affairs offices but also between NWC students, staff and faculty. Our office builds NWC’s external presence, whether through arranging campus tours, coordinating speaking engagements, community outreach or planning within the command.

Media Requests

Our faculty members are available to provide expert opinion, commentary and analysis on a wide range of defense, strategy, policy and national security affairs topics.

While journalists can contact faculty members directly, the Public Affairs Office is also available to recommend experts and help locate them for interviews. To contact the office, call us at (401) 856-5060 or email us at PAO@usnwc.edu.

To see a list of available faculty members and their areas of expertise, please visit our faculty directory.

The views presented by the faculty do not reflect official positions of the Naval War College, DON or DOD.

Speakers Bureau

The Speakers Bureau informs and educates local communities about NWC. The bureau welcomes the opportunity to better inform our neighbors about the college, its people and its importance to national security, both here in Rhode Island and the nation.

Volunteer staff, faculty and students are available to speak to educational, civic, business and professional organizations. Our speakers include military officers from all the branches of the services, civilian government personnel from various government agencies and civilian faculty with a wide range of expertise and experience.

Please see our ‘Requesting Speakers Bureau’ page or email us at Outreach@usnwc.edu for information on how to request a speaker.
