Naval War College Press

The Naval War College Press publishes the quarterly Naval War College Review, and occasional books, including the Newport Papers and the Historical Monograph series. The Press also provides editorial and production support for the China Maritime Studies series.

Newport Papers

Newport Papers cover a variety of subjects, but ideally relate to contemporary operational or strategic concerns in the realm of maritime security.

Upon publication, printed copies of Newport Papers are distributed to a list of approximately 300 senior commanders and staff members. Selected editions are offered for sale here by the U.S. Government Publishing Office.

Newport Papers are book-length monographs. They typically range from 41,000 to 66,000 words, and can accommodate (black and white) photographs, art, tables, and graphs.
