Naval Leadership & Ethics Center building

Naval Leadership & Ethics Center Students

We’re pleased to welcome you to the Naval Leadership and Ethics Center. While you may only be on campus for a week or two, we hope that you enjoy your time with us.

Information for NLEC Students and Spouses

Fourteen times per year we welcome a group of prospective command chiefs and officers to campus. Here, you will participate in an intensive leadership development program before embarking on one of the most demanding and rewarding positions in the Navy.

Perhaps your partner will be joining you in Newport as well. The Navy recognizes the significant role spouses play in a command’s support team, so we’ve invested in a complementary, concurrent training program to support and inspire our enlisted officer spouses.

Your brief time as an NLEC student will be filled with learning: seminars, lectures, activities, discussions, and guest speakers. But you’ll also have the opportunity to build camaraderie with other commands through socials and general down time. Your time in Newport culminates with a graduation ceremony.
