Adm. Frank M. Bradley, commander of U.S. Special Operations Command, received the U.S. Naval War College’s (NWC) 2026 Distinguished Graduate Leadership Award (DLGA) at the war college’s Newport, Rhode Island, campus on March 31.
Vice Adm. Peter Garvin, now president of the National Defense University (NDU), returned to the U.S. Naval War College (NWC) on March 25 to deliver a lecture on the subject of warfighting in military education. Garvin, then rear admiral, served as the president of the Naval War College from 2023-2024.
The U.S. Naval War College’s Cyber & Innovation Policy Institute (CIPI) held a multilateral wargame focused on critical undersea communications infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific region with Japanese and Australian allies during the 2026 Pacific Operational Science & Technology (POST) Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, March 11.

Michael O’Hara, Ph.D., dean of the U.S. Naval War College’s Center for Naval Warfare Studies, and Associate Prof. Richard Moss, Ph.D., of the school’s Russian Maritime Studies Institute, joined Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron (MSRON) 8 for a Narragansett Bay patrol Saturday, Aug. 9.
