David Brower is a Senior Military Analyst with Cubic Applications, Inc. supporting the War Gaming Department, Center for Naval Warfare Studies. Mr. Brower is a former helicopter squadron executive and commanding officer with 13 years of active service and 17 years in the Navy Reserves. Primarily flying the LAMPS Mk I and Mk III missions, in both the SH-2F and the SH-60B helicopters aboard frigates and destroyers, he also flew the C-1A while attached to the USS SARATOGA (CV-60).
Following his transfer to the Navy Reserve, he continued to fly in the reserve helicopter squadron HSL-74 at NAS South Weymouth and was the final commanding officer of that squadron. He has supported the Naval War College War Gaming Department since 1994; in particular the Navy’s Title 10 Global War Game Series. As a civilian, he was the financial officer and information systems manager for a packaging printing company for 15 years.
Following the September 11th attack in 2001, he had orders to duty as the NWC Reserve Affairs Officer supporting Operation NOBLE EAGLE. Since 2002, he has supported four years in the Modeling and Simulation lab at the Navy Warfare Development Command in Newport, RI, as the Navy Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) Air Representative. The balance of time, he supported the War Gaming Department as a Senior Military Analyst for the Global War Game series as well as other events and seminars.
Mr. Brower received his Master of Science Degree – Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, and a Bachelor of Science – Mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, (Class of 1974).
