Issues in National Security Lecture Series

The "Issues in National Security" is an annual event in which ten lectures are presented by volunteer faculty professors from U.S. Naval War College (NWC) during the winter and spring. As the lectures represent current political, military, economic, and social issues that both challenge strategists and concern citizens, the lectures are tailored to the spouses and significant others of NWC students, staff, and faculty.

About Issues in National Security Lecture Series

Topics range from global issues such as humanitarian assistance and disaster response to specific regional issues such as U.S. naval power in the Pacific. The lectures are presented in a method similar to those given as part of the war college curriculum: a forty-five minute lecture followed by a question and answer period. Based on the success of last year's inaugural lecture series, this event is being moved to Spruance Auditorium which can support a larger audience.

Upcoming Event

The series is designed to be very inclusive: all lectures are open to spouses, partners, and significant others of military/civilian employees not only assigned to Naval War College but also those affiliated with Naval Station Newport and its tenant activities. Foundation members and local-area retirees or active/reserve personnel are also welcome.
