This event is for spouses, partners and significant others of military/civilian employees assigned to the U.S. Naval War College, Naval Station Newport and its tenant activities, NWC Foundation members and local-area retirees or active/reserve personnel.

Issues in National Security (INS) lectures are designed to offer scholarly lectures to student spouses and significant others, military/civilian NWC and Naval Station Newport employees and tenant personnel, international sponsors, Foundation members, and local-area retirees and active/reserve personnel.

The INS lectures will be held on the campus of the Naval War College in Spruance Auditorium on select Tuesday afternoons from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM. In-person attendance is encouraged, but the lectures will also be broadcast via Zoom. Ten lectures will be offered between September 2023 and May 2024. The tentative schedule is listed here. The NWC Public Affairs Office will send announcements each week prior to the events.

These lectures are being offered to provide intellectual stimulation to the participants and no formal academic credit will be awarded. Those who attend at least 70% of the lectures (7 of 10) will be awarded a certificate of completion.
