Connie Frizzell, CAPT
Joint Military Operations
Captain Connie Frizzell is a Naval Information Warfare Officer currently serving as a Joint Military Professor at the Naval War College, Newport, RI. She recently completed a one-year National Security Fellowship at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, studying a broad array of public and global security issues with other practitioners in public policy such as politicians, journalists, diplomats and other educators. She served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Policy and Strategy Directorate (J5) as the Chief for the Cyber Policy and Security Cooperation Divisions where she participated in the UN’s Group of Government Experts for Information Technologies, the establishment of US Cyber Command, and building the Libyan operations coalition. Geographically rounded, she has served on the Fleet staffs for the Pacific, Atlantic, Europe, and Central Command Theaters. CAPT Frizzell is a graduate of the Naval War College and holds a bachelor’s degree in oceanography from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s degree in systems engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. Research interests include dual-use (civil-military) technologies and convergence of artificial intelligence with nanotechnologies and robotics.
