Commander Cassie Kitchen is a Coast Guard judge advocate currently serving as Operations Officer and Associate Director for Maritime Law Enforcement & Security in the Stockton Center for the Study of International Law. Commander Kitchen also serves as a member of the Coast Guard’s trial judiciary. Her legal experience runs the gamut of Coast Guard prevention and response missions, with particular emphasis on domestic and international law in the context of maritime security and law enforcement, marine safety, and maritime mobility, and natural resource protection.
Commander Kitchen’s degrees include a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies, U.S. Naval War College, 2014; Master of Arts in Leadership, St. Mary’s College of California, 2004; Juris Doctor, Roger Williams University School of Law, 2000; and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, University of Florida, 1995.
