NEWPORT, R.I. -- In preparation for the upcoming Navy Global’12 War Game, more than 50 participants from across the Department of Defense and Intelligence communities attended a 3-day workshop at the U.S. Naval War College (NWC), June 26-28.
Assigned to either the Red Cell or Blue Cell, attendees stepped-through a series of planning activities in order to develop their respective game plans, which will serve as the foundation for their game moves in the August war game.
is the Navy’s Title 10 War Game and is conducted on an annual basis by the NWC War Gaming Department on behalf of the Chief of Naval Operations. The games are run in order to examine future operational challenges and identify the associated Organize, Train and Equip (OT&E) implications for the Navy. While many of the games are classified, including this year’s game, unclassified games have also been conducted, most recently in 2010.
