The National Committee on United States-China Relations
Newport, RI – Dr. Andrew Erickson, Professor at the Naval War College's Chinese
Maritime Studies Institute, has been selected as one of twenty participants in the
National Committee’s Public Intellectuals Program on United States-China Relations.
It's a three-year non-residential program to give junior China scholars more exposure
to policy making and different China research fields. Erickson was chosen from a
competitive group of 78 eligible applicants. Erickson was chosen due to his Ph.D.,
his experience in teaching, and proficiency about China.
The National Committee on United States-China Relations is a multi-year program
which recognizes outstanding members of American-China scholars in order to better
their education on policy-making process in the U.S. and China. The program is three
years and includes two four-day workshops on U.S.-China relations in Washing D.C.,
a two day workshop in San Francisco, a ten-day Fellows trip to China, and the possibility
of serving as a scholar-escort for a National Committee delegation.
