CDR Christian Fleming currently serves with Navy Reserve, Naval War College (Law). In civilian life, he is a partner with Jabin & Fleming, a general practice law firm in East Brunswick, New Jersey, and has been since 2001. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a criminal trial attorney.
CDR Fleming entered active duty with the U.S. Navy in 1996. He served his first tour with the Trial Service Office, Pacific Detachment in Yokosuka, Japan, as a trial counsel (prosecutor). A tour as the Assistant Command Judge Advocate onboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), homeported to Yokosuka, Japan, followed, which included a deployment to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Southern Watch. As a reservist, CDR Fleming’s prior tour was as an international law attorney with NR International and Operational Law, the unit that supports the Office of the Judge Advocate General, International and Operational Law Division, Washington, D.C., (Code 10). In 2008, CDR Fleming was mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the Staff Judge Advocate for Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group Forward, on Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
Following graduation with a B.A. in Economics from Gettysburg College in 1993, CDR Fleming graduated with a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law – Newark in 1996, where he was an editor on the Law Review. He spent a summer abroad studying international law at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, as well as the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
