Cold Weather: Be sure to bring outerwear appropriate for the season to include necessary items for year round physical training outdoors. The black V-neck style pullover sweaters are authorized for wear in place of the Service Dress Blue coat. Bridge coats and pea coats are highly encouraged during the winter months.
Personnel officially issued the leather flight jacket may wear it only with khakis. The green nylon flight jacket is not authorized aboard Naval Station Newport.
Uniform Periods: Summer uniform period is from the first Monday in May to the first Monday in October. Winter uniform period is from the first Monday in October to the first Monday in May. Should your class cover both periods, you must bring both winter and summer uniforms.
