RADM Wendi B. Carpenter (CDE 2006) Serves as First Female SUNY Maritime College President

Wendi B. Carpenter (CDE 2006), was unanimously appointed Rear Admiral, President of SUNY Maritime College by the State University of New York Board of Trustees on July 6th, 2011. Admiral Carpenter has been serving as the Commander of the Navy’s Warfare Development Command. The SUNY Board of Trustees voted on her appointment at a special meeting held on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Rear Admiral Carpenter is the first woman to serve as president of SUNY Maritime College.
 

Carpenter has pursued graduate studies in marketing and holds a master of arts in international relations from Salve Regina University. She is a distinguished graduate of the Naval War College and completed Capstone 06-02, as well as executive programs in business, strategic planning, and innovation at National Defense University, Defense Acquisition University, University of North Carolina Business School, Chapel Hill, and Babson College. She has accumulated over 3,500 military flight hours.
