Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) James J. Shannon (CNW 1997), has been nominated for appointment to the rank of Rear Admiral. Shannon is currently serving as Commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center/deputy commander for surface warfare, SEA-21, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C.
