Tobyhanna Army Depot will undergo a change of command on Thursday.
Army Col. Gerhard Schroter (CNCS 2000), will succeed Col. Charles C. Gibson as the installation's top military officer, the depot reported.
Col. Schroter will become the facility's 30th commander in a 10 a.m. ceremony at the depot's headquarters building.
Col. Schroter most recently served as chief of the mobility operations division at Campbell Barracks in Heidelberg, Germany. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and has a master's degree from the Naval War College.
Col. Gibson, who became commander at Tobyhanna in July 2009, will become chief of staff for the U.S. Army Communications-Electronic Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.
Under Col. Gibson's leadership, the depot was recognized for manufacturing excellence and added industrial improvements, including a finishing center.
Maj. Gen. Robert S. Ferrell, commanding officer of Army Communications-Electronics Command, will preside at the ceremony. Numerous Army and local officials will attend the ceremony and the 78th Army Band from Fort Dix, N.J., will provide music.
