We are a collaborative student-faculty research effort that employs foreign primary source analysis, military operations analysis, and war gaming to examine strategic-level challenges, such as nuclear weapons and deterrence and escalation control issues.
Our research focuses on the implications for U.S. plans, policy and force structure.
Analysis of these issues is conducted working closely with U.S. Strategic Command. Mahan Scholars annually brief their work directly to Navy and STRATCOM leadership, and regularly to many other senior warfighters and decision makers within the national security community.
