Profile
Col Charbonneau is a military professor in the National Security Affairs Department. He teaches both the senior-level National Security Decision Making course and the junior-level Theater Strategy Decision making course.
He earned a mechanical engineering technology degree from Lake Superior State College in 1984 and was commissioned in the United States Air Force in 1985 from Officer Training School. He graduated from Undergraduate Navigator Training, Electronic Warfare Officer School and B-52 Combat Crew Training. Col Charbonneau then flew 26 combat missions in DESERT STORM and supported numerous other operational deployments. He was a Program Manager for the AMRAAM Missile launcher and Source Selection Chief for the AMRAAM Missile, Lot 9.
Col Charbonneau is a 1998 graduate of the Naval War College (CNC&S), a 2007 graduate of the Air War College, and was an instructor and Air Force Element Deputy Director at the Army’s Command & General Staff College. He is a graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College and the Joint Military Attaché School. He holds masters degrees from Central Michigan University, CNC&S and the Air Force’s Air War College.
Col Charbonneau commanded the 68th Electronic Warfare Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, providing operational electronic support to the E-3 (AWACS) Electronic Support Measures system and the F-16’s High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM).
