Perry D. Yaw, CAPT
Assistant Director of the NCC
A native of Long Beach, NY, Captain Perry D. Yaw is a 1982 graduate of Long Beach High School, a 1986 graduate of Auburn University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, and a 2007 graduate of the Naval War College College where he earned his Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.
Captain Yaw’s Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance tours were completed with Patrol Squadron SIX and Patrol Squadron NINE, an instructor tour as Fleet NATOPS evaluator on the staff of Commander Patrol Wings Pacific, a department head tour with Patrol Squadron NINE, Assistant Chief of Staff for Training on the staff of Commander Patrol and Reconnaissance Force Pacific, Commanding/Executive Officer Patrol Squadron NINE and Commanding Officer of Patrol Squadron THIRTY.
In addition to his flying tours, Captain Yaw served as the Operations Administrative Officer on board USS ENTERPRISE, where he qualified as Officer of the Deck Underway and deployed to the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf. He also served at Naval Personnel Command as the Assistant Aviation Captain Detailer and Aviation Commander Detailer.
Captain Yaw assumed his duties as the Assistant Director of the Naval Command College in July 2011.
Captain Yaw’s awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various campaign and unit awards.
