LT COL MICHAEL S. HOUGH joined the Naval War College staff after graduating from the Naval War College in June 2011. He is a core Space and Missile operations officer and USAF Weapons School graduate with an extensive operations background. Previous assignments include ICBM combat crew commander and instructor (341 MW, AFSPC); Missile Warning crew commander and evaluator (6th Space Warning Sq, Cape Cod Air Force Station); Weapons Officer at the 353rd Combat Training Squadron (Eielson AFB, AK); Chief, Space Tactics Division, National Reconnaissance Office (Chantilly, VA); Chief of the Space Training and Exercises division, Air Staff (Pentagon). He planned and executed air and space operations at deployed locations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lt Col Hough was the commander of the 527th Space Aggressor Squadron (Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO) prior to his attending the Naval War College. A 1992 graduate of Texas Tech University, Lt Col Hough also holds an M.A. from the University of Great Falls, Great Falls, Montana, and an M.A. from Air Command and Staff College, and an M.A. from the Naval War College.
