Professor Mark D. Seaman retired as a Captain from the U.S. Navy in June 2008 and is a professor of Joint Military Operations (JMO). His area of experience is in Joint/Multinational Operational Planning and is the JMO Senior Capstone Exercise Coordinator. Additionally, he is a co-moderator of the theater strategic planning elective, Joint Land Air and Sea Simulation (JLASS) and has served as the William F. Halsey Chair of Air and Strike Warfare.
Prior to joining the Naval War College faculty, he deployed with F-14 fighter squadrons and served as the Chief of Naval Plans and exercises with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization major subordinate and principal subordinate headquarters in Stavanger and Kolsas, Norway.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Science from the U. S. Naval Academy, a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U. S. Naval War College and is a graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons School, TOPGUN.
