Profile
A career infantry officer, Professor Rutledge has commanded at the platoon, company and battalion level. While on active duty he served on the faculty of The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course, where he was a Tactics Instructor and Staff Platoon Commander. More recently, he has served as a Military Professor in the Joint Military Operations Department and Naval Operational Planner Course (now MAWS), U.S. Naval War College.
Staff tours include Battalion assistant operations officer, Exercise Planner, Ground Operational Planner, and Information Operations Officer for II Marine Expeditionary Force. His last operational tour, then-Colonel Rutledge was with the Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command where he served as the Fleet Marine Officer and NAVCENT Future Plans Director.
Professor Rutledge holds a Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
