Douglas Ducharme is an Assistant Research Professor in the War Gaming Department, Center for Naval Warfare Studies. Professor Ducharme is a former helicopter pilot who the served twenty years on active duty in the Combat Support and Mine Countermeasures Communities and at the Naval War College as a Game Director. He also deployed to Iraq for one year as the Chief of Operations for the Energy Fusion Cell of the Combined Joint Operations Directorate of Multi-National Force-Iraq.
Professor Ducharme received a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, a Master of Science Degree in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Education Leadership at Johnson & Wales University.
Professor Ducharme’s areas of expertise and research include search and rescue, mine warfare, infrastructure protection, theater security cooperation, maritime domain awareness, and operations research.
Professor Ducharme is an active member of the Military Operations Research Society.
