Profile
Captain Christopher J. Dennis, U.S. Navy, is a 1989 graduate of Auburn University. He holds a B.A. in Political Science (specialization in Soviet and East European Studies) and a M.A. with distinction in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. A naval aviator in the SH-60B, he had command of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light FOUR SIX from June 2007-August 2008. He has completed various operational tours aboard USS NIMITZ, USS ELROD, USS BRISCOE, USS SIMPSON, USS HALYBURTON and USS WASP. From 1995-1997, he served the Chief of Naval Operations Space Operations Directorate (CNO-N63) as Global Broadcast Service/Ultra-High Frequency Satellite Communications Requirements Officer. From 2003-2005, he served as Assistant U.S. Representative to the N.A.T.O Frequency Management Sub-Committee in Brussels, Belgium. Immediately before joining the Strategy and Policy faculty, he served as Navigator for Carrier Strike Group ONE and USS CARL VINSON.
Captain Dennis's academic interests include: green energy and economics; the confluence and effects of population growth, continued global industrialization/post-industrialization and resource scarcity on US strategy and policy; the future US Navy force structure...beyond aircraft carriers; and leadership.
