NEWPORT, R.I. (Oct. 25, 2009) The Process Accreditation of Joint Education (PAJE) team will be evaluating the Naval War College’s (NWC) College of Naval Command and Staff and College of Distance Education, Oct. 25-30.
 
The team of 20 from military colleges around the nation will interview faculty, students and administrators, in addition to observing classes and examining the entire curriculum of both colleges.
 
The team’s schedule also includes meetings with President, Naval War College Rear Adm. Phil Wisecup, briefings on NWC and its mission, and a tour.
 
The team is part of the Joint Staff, who assist the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in advising the President of the United States. PAJE evaluates NWC every six years.
 
The PAJE serves three purposes: oversight, assessment and improvement. Through the PAJE, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff complies with statutory responsibilities for oversight of the officer joint educational system. The PAJE also serves as a method for improving an educational institution’s execution of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) through periodic self-study and self-assessment.
