The presentation is part of the Naval War College's Evening Lecture Series which is sponsored by the Naval War College Foundation.

A World of Experience At his retirement from active duty, McCaffrey was the most highly decorated four-star general in the U.S. Army, having served in Desert Storm and as assistant to then-chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell, supporting him as adviser to the secretary of state. McCaffrey served for five years as U.S. drug czar, where he forged the National Drug Control Strategy that took into account the ways illegal drugs fund terrorism. Currently, he is an adjunct professor of international affairs at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and president of his own consulting firm.
